The best program I've found to focus stack is Helicon Focus. Does an incredible job of finding the sharpest areas of each image. Beats Photoshop CS5 (my latest version) hands down, especially in dark areas or areas of low contrast.
plantastic How many exposures did you use to create that image? Is there a particular software that you use? Again, unbelievable detail and dynamic range!
I use single exposure.

Thanks. While I took the photo, credit for the excellent condition of the coral goes to my buddy. He had some outrageous polyp extension going on with many corals. We called this one "The Wookie".
Looking at the pic now, I find myself doing that "geez, I should do x, y and z to this image" thing.
