If you have a Zoanthid ID question, post it here. There are many reefers in this forum who have the knowledge and are ready, willing and capable to answer your ID related questions and concerns. By posting them all here in one place, I think there is a greater chance that collectively you will receive an answer swiftly. Just my opinion is all.

Along with this thread, I think we should try to avoid the often mindless habit of simply replying with "try zoaid.com" We make it sound to the new hobbyists as if zoaid.com defines this part of the hobby. True, some zoa IDs could be simply identified through the website and true, some might be only inquiring with the intentions of making fast cash. However, technically the whole ID search comes down to people searching for information on different corals of this hobby.

ok can you tell me what kind these are?i think the green ones on right side are dragon eyes?dont have a clue what the red ones on left are fire and ice maybe?ive seen fire and ice and they looked alot bluer in the middle than these.

This name thing is really getting ridiculous. Eagle eyes made sense at the time but some are just pulled out of thin air.

I have a feeling that you may have some fire and ice zoas here but they just aren't popping like they should. If they are new then give them more time, or try moving them up a little bit in your tank.

Hope that helps, and thanks for posting your ID question in this thread.

Hey MUCHO REEF...I picked up some zoas like you have in your avitar...orange dot center, followed by a black ring.with a pink ring around that and green skirt...are they eclipses? I've got a top down pic of them in my gallery, but the water was scummy so not that great...I'll see if I can get a better pic by tomorrow..

I've been wondering what these are called.

The top pic is what they looked like before they morphed into the second pic.

The closest thing I could come up with is "Lemon & Lime"

They are very unique though.

I was wrong on this ID, I think they look more like the "King Midas" and the "Lemon & Lime" you decide. (I think they may actually be the same color strain on zoaid)

Your zoas seem to be a unique color pattern. They have a lot of things in common with other color strains, but no dead on match.

Now this possible ID has an orange center, while yours seems to have a green one. Perhaps differences in light spectrums... but I'm not sure:

Here are some pics for ID...

Are the ones on the left eclipses?

Dragon eyes?

These I haven't got a clue...they turn spekeled blue when hit with a LOT of light, but as you see the ones that can't get turned directly at the light are more green..

Thanks in advance for the ID's...
