Potential hosting???

Hello, fellow reefers! I ran into a something and need your help. I have a Nuvo 16 reef with a black Nemo (ocelerus or percula?) in the reef there are Maney things that include a rose bubble tip anemone and Hammar coral. I got the clown about five days ago and he still has not hosted anything. But lately, I have seen him sucking or biting the tenticals of the hammer head. Does that mean it's going to host it instead of the anemone? That does not make sence?? Please help

Your clown does not host, your nem or hammer may host your clown. Give it time, sometimes it happens fast, sometimes it takes months.

Can you post a picture of your clownfish so we can at least figure out which you have? That would help if deciding what the easiest nem would be for hosting it.

Yes the clownfish doesn't host anything, the nem or corals do.

Here's a pic I think

BTA are not natural host of either Ocellaris or Percula. In captivity, sometime clown fish can be hosted by a non natural hosts. Sometime this take time, other time your clown fish may not go into an unnatural host at all.

UPDATE: the black clownfish seems to be biting the anemones tentacles, i now strongly believe that he is going to live in the anemone! i am sorry about the pictures, try pressing on them it helps. rippinfrags ID it as an ocellaris.

i have a question, what will happen if you put a regular ocellaris (orange ocellaris) ? will they fight and kill each other or coexist? thank you for your time

How can you tell from those two pictures? I can hardly see the clown yet determine what kind it is. I just want to know what I'm missing.

It's not the clearest picture, but to me it's pretty clear it's a black and white ocellaris clownfish.

You can certainly add an orange and white ocellaris with your current clownfish. Just make sure you read up on how to pair clownfish.

Basically just get an insanely small orange one to make sure it isn't a female yet cause two females will fight and the one u already has prolly already is female
