Potters Angel x Flame Angel hybrid?

I really like that C. bispinosa x C. loricula hybrid. I'm still considering adding a small Flame Angel with my current male Coral Beauty. If I do I'll probably move the Coral Beauty to my QT for a couple weeks to give the flame a chance to settle in. I would LOVE to have a spawning pair of Centropyge.
 
Here are my two specimens. What region does the flame seem to be from? I also LOVE the look of the potter's angel. I haven't seen one like it before.

alzika, wow that is a red flame! Def looks hawaiian to me, but I am yet to see one in person. I really want some.

I'm no expert on what a true Hawaiian Flame would look like, but I will tell you Aqua Touch has an amazing connection in Hawaii. They had a pair of Crosshatch Triggers awhile back for $425, that was for the pair, not apiece. Last time I was in they had several Lei Triggers for $39, I have never seen these 2 Hawaiian fish that inexpensive anywhere. They may ship nationwide, but Aqua Touch is easily the most respected LFS in Phoenix. If they say they are Hawaiian, it's good enough for me.

Yes, I am familiar with the Phoenix area and with Aquatouch. My old girlfriend lived not too far away from there and I used to work a few days a week in Phoenix.

The Hawaiian flames from AquaTouch were caught on the north side of Oahu, I know the price seemed really good. It was.

Nice Potter's you have LargeAngles, what lenght is it? I saw a 5+ inch potters in a store once.
 
If they would have been more I probably would have believed it and bought them. Nice find. I've been looking for a while. I should have bought some from Brian when he was catching them. I think he caught them on the West side.

Thanks, it is about 4". I have another male about 4" also, but not nearly as much blue.

There's obvious dominance showing. Plus, the potter's angel is showing signs of submission when and if the flame gets aggressive.

Does this sound normal so far for a pair?
 
Anyone? When the potters show submission after the flame darts towards it, the potters stands in place and swims in a very odd sideways fashion.
 
These two fish are not pairing up. This sounds like typical aggression. I have seen this between my Blueface and Majestic several times. It is the equivalent of playing dead. Make sure there is plenty of hiding spots for the potters, and make sure it continues to eat.

How will I know if they pair up?
 
I am going to say they will not pair up. They may learn to tolerate each other, but two different species pairing, is not likely.
 
Re: the HI flames... I have seen them occasionally in the wysiwyg section of an online retailer here in CA. They were listed as Hawaiian, had very red coloration and carried a price of about $80 each if IIRC. Considering that typical flame can be had in the $40 price range I wasn't suspect of them, and a pair at $200 wouldn't sound "fishy" to me, but does sound like a nice deal. I guess the only way to know is to ask where they were collected.
