Potter's Angel

I am currently setting up a 46 gallon reef. This tank started out as a 10 gallon, then a 20 long, and now a 46. I am not new to the hobby (in fact I have over 10 years of FW experience) and over time have learned a great deal about SW. Being honest with myself, I knew I could EASILY do a FO tank with damsels no problem. So I challenged myself and went with something a little more to my desires. While I just had a 20L reef. I decided to take a risk and get an angelfish. I knew angels are not 100% reef safe, and even then personality can differ specimen to specimen. Well, I did some research on the Potters angel specifically and found that I would like to take the risk.

It is now recently that I found out that they can be quite difficult to keep. I've had it for over a month and a half and no problems thus far. It is eating great and even recognizes me as food :D

my question is; is there anything I should be looking for? I know angels can be a little iffy when first introduced (she did take about a week and a half to really start eating food, but now she's pretty accepting most frozens), but is there anything that changes over time?

As long as the Potter angel is eating you should be fine. Make sure you give it a wide varities of foods like formular I & II, Spirulina Flakes, sheets or Nori and Mysis shrimp. Just make sure that the angel has good color and isn't scratching or hiding a lot and you should be fine.

It may pick at certain corals over time, but that is a decision you made when you purchased the fish, so if it does either remove the coral or just let it eat it.

Potters are very hardy once they're established. Most of the problems people have with them stem from bad collection and shipping (IMO).

They can be territorial if you put other pygmy angels in the tank, though - one thing to watch for.
