Pouch emphysema advice

My male erectus recently had weak snick and pouch emphysema. I was sure that I was going to loose him as he didn’t eat for 3 weeks and I was tube feeding from day 5. His pouch emphysema was also bad and he was stuck on the surface and so I had to insert a catheter into his pouch which liberated a lot of air bubbles and instantly he improved.
Currently he is eating normally and happily hitched to his favourite plastic plant. The problem is that when he swims he does so upside down and so clearly has some residual air left in his pouch. As he is eating and able to get to his hitching places my feeling is to leave him alone as he’s been through a lot, does anyone have experience as whether the air will dissipate on its own or will it have to be drained ?

I know that pouch emphysema is troublesome to get rid of. I actually never dealt with it so don't have much to offer in the way of advise. I would be leaning toward letting him be and if it gets worse repeat what you did before with the catheter.
