Powder blue tang mouth issue

Hello everyone,

I have a powder blue tang that I have had in QT for 2.5 weeks. He has been doing great - eating like a pig, active, and no signs of ich. Yesterday and today, however I noticed he is having a hard time eating and his mouth is pink/red. It seems like he can't open and close it. As well I think he may be scratching one side on one of the rocks and seems to have nicked one of his fins. For some reason, photobucket isn't working for me and so I have attached a pic - hopefully it works. It isn't the best and I can try to take more pics if anyone thinks it would help.

Thanks in advance!!!

It's difficult to see in your attached picture, but the flashing on the rocks and difficulty eating are valid concerns. Have you been treating the tang for anything in your QT? Is the fish alone in the tank?

See if you can get some better pictures.

No, I haven't been treating the tang for anything. Now, he looks worse - he has little bumps on his face and almost looks like his skin is peeling?? Both of his fins look a bit frayed. I am attaching a few more pics that hopefully will lead a diagnosis from someone.

Thanks again!!

Could possibly be fungal? I lost a Kole tang to a mouth fungal infection where he couldn't open/close his mouth entirely.
