Powder blue tang with ich

I it's ich Ill sell my tank lol. Idk what the hell I would do at this point. I was thinking this whole thing is almost over, and then this happens. What could it be?

I was watching the tank a little bit this morning and I saw something interesting. The yellow tang doesn't like the PB in the pot I have in there to hide in. He turns around and swings his tail at him. Could that spot have something to do with that? It has gotten smaller since I first noticed it. It looks like there could be two more, but they really don't look like ich spots.

I would add another pot or some PVC so they each have a hiding place. When my fish had this (on the thread linked above) the spots would start out looking similar to an ich spot, then grow out in length and girth. If the affected areas on your fish are injuries, they'll take care of themselves.

I bought 2 pots initially, but I was worried about swimming room. I think with just over a week of QT left (hopefully). Ill put the other pot in and see what happens.

So tomorrow will be about 4 week of hypo. I think ill start to raise the salinity tomorrow night and hopefully have them in the tank next week.

I think it was 4 weeks ago this coming Monday. I thought one of the tangs had a few spots a little over a week ago, but it still has it now. I'm guessing it could be a little bacterial infection or maybe a wound from the other tang? From everything I've read ich spots last 3-7 days...it's going on 8 or 9 now.

Ok I'm not really an expert but from experience and what I've read just to be safe I would wait till its like day 13-15 on the spot just to be safe because if you raise the salinity and it is ick you will have to do the entire process all over again

I might as well give it a shot sooner then later. If it is ich, ill be doing this for an other 4 weeks anyway right? If its not I can start the countdown to DT.

As for the QT after, I want to do it for at least a week to see if anything does come back.

Sounds good to me. I wish you the best of luck about it just marks from the other tang and I firmly believe that leaving them in qt for a week or more after hypo is the best option

The QT is up to .025. The tangs look good and they're eating well. Hopefully everything goes right the next few days.

Patience is the key to running a successful tank. I had the same problem with ick and velvet and lost 9 fish in 5 days. Always QT, have the proper size tank ( I have a 240), and don't take chances. It's only been a couple of months for me, but all fish are fat and happy (including a Naso and Dsjardini tang). :)

Yeah I've been real good with saltwater since I started about a year ago. Freshwater was a different story, I never had any luck. This is my first big boy tank so hopefully these two go in nicely

My PB and yellow tang didn't like each other for over 9 months. The stress was all on the PB. He spent the better part of 9 months in and out of qt. I tried hypo sal and nearly lost him twice. Then I tried coppersafe and it was a huge success each time afterwards. Each time going back in to the DT he lasted longer and the yellow tang got a little less mean. Now it's been 14 months since purchase and the tangs are best buds and no more qt. Don't give up hope :)

Well it seems like my situation is reversed. The PB is being aggressive as all hell, but they are in a smaller tank. I'm hoping they get along once in the DT.
