I have (4) 65 watt power compacts on my 55 gallon tank. I need to replace these bulbs. Is there a difference between the "current power compacts" and the "coralife power compacts".
I wont upgrade to the VHO's or T5's until I get my 75 gallon tank up and running.

Ok after much research on the helolights.com sight I discovered that both coralife and current have square and straight connectors. Better watch what I order. Helolights has some improperly packaged lights a little cheaper 19.99 each. Guess I will call them both for shipping costs and see what turns out the best.
There's also a nice chart for tank dimesions that will tell you how much light and what kinds work best for the types of corals you keep. Thanks everyone

bro I paid like 18 bucks for all of my pc's im telling you try ebay I forget the seller right now just search and you will find.

Ebay is a flip of a coin - you put to much effort into your tank to cheap out on the lighting - JMO. Please purchase from a reputable dealer that will give you a guarantee and stand behind it. I've tried Ebay and have received some great deals - others where more like going to the General Dollar store and not the quality I was looking for.

Fosters and smiths, my shipping has never been over 12 - 15 bucks and that is also getting salt. Get this - their Reef Crystals 160 gallon mix is only 31.00$. If I have to get a small order I always add the reef crystals to it :D. To bad you live in plant city, we could put a order together and just split the shipment (I need to order some lights also).

Sorry I do stand corrected - they do have both as far as pin types, so it's obvious you're going to have to take a bulb out and check. I have compacts over my FW tank which is coralife and current over my frag tank - different.

At $.19 per gallon, the Fosters & Smith price WITHOUT SHIPPING, is only one penny less than respected Instant Ocean in the 160 size at Petsmart - just ask them if they will match Internet pricing - the answer is yes and they will give a discount. I got mine there last year.

I never purchase salt alone - it's just part of the package as in purchasing other item. I'd have to pay shipment anyway and it doesn't cost anymore - with or without it. So, I look at it as I'm getting the salt shipped free. It's delivered to my front door so I don't have to cart it from the store to my car, from the car to my house. I have a muscle disease so it works great for me, but as you indicated, without purshasing other items yes it would cost more. Same with over 200$ shipment is free - I do that all the time :D.

gee, I look at local purchases as a reason to go to the pet store (I go even when I don't purchase anything - very theraputic!)

There's only one store I purchase fish, corals or really anything having to do with my tanks locally and that is from John. Other than that I love watching my tanks. Once you get your reef you'll see what I mean :D. I can sit for hours and just watch the corals sway and fish interact - I love my tanks.
