Power outage

So, anybody else lose their power this weekend? Mine was out for 24 hrs. Had to drag out the generator to power up all the necessary things. Started the night with the fridge, freezer, a fan, and the aquarium. By noon the next day I had to add a couple more things. Another fan, cable and Wi-Fi. Good thing to because it didn't come on for another 5 hrs

First time it's been out for more then an hour in 4-5 years

Good thing you had the generator. 24 hours is a long time in AZ

Wow, sorry to hear about your power outage. That was quite the storm we had this weekend. I live in the east valley and fortunately did not lose power. After reading your story I am reminded once again why I want a backup generator so badly

This is why I added a Vortech backup battery specifically for the tank...Did you have any casualties?

No casualties. Though there could have been. We were coming back from mesa when I got the email that the power was out. It was an hour before we got home. I was more worried about the small quarantine tank and the fish in there. Fish load in the big tank is relatively minor

I have a vortech battery back up as well, but I'm not that impressed with how much water my pumps move when in battery backup mode. Also, if the power goes out in the summer for an extended period of time, I'm more worried about the temperature of the tank. Additonally, I like my beer cold and a generator can make that happen as well
