Power strips?

First of all make sure whatever you do that the outlets are GFI. If not, switch them out immediately. I use an 8 outlet power rack. It's simple to use and works great. I have the the items plugged in to it that don't necessarily need to run 24/7 so at the flip of a switch I turn it off and on. Great for water changes and salt mixing. That will free up a lot of space on the strip for the items that do need to run 24/7.

I am in the process of setting up my tank now. I swapped out the normal outlet for a GFCI with an alarm. If it's tripped, it beeps until you reset it. That way, if the outlet trips, I know it and I can run to the rescue.

As for powerstrips, there are several innovative options for oversized plugs, like this: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Quirky-Pivot-Power-Pop-with-Flexible-Power-Strip-PPVPP-BK01/205202335

I used two of these:http://www.homedepot.com/p/Monster-Core-Power-12-Outlet-Fireproof-Surge-Protector-with-USB-and-AV-Protection-MPEXP1200/205602090
