Powerhead on one side only?

Will work for fish
Hello guys I have a jebao sw8 on one side of my back glass (center overflow) this replaced my jbj ocean stream combo . The jebao alone can push more than the ocean streams combined (500gph each) but am wondering if I should keep them on the other side (so pretty much running 3 powerheads)

Goal is enough to keep my fish and majority softies potentially sps happy.

You might want to. The goal is to eliminate dead spots in your tank. Depending on you rock work you may have a few. Plus flow a way coral get nutrients like calcium if I remember correctly among other things.

Depends on many things and how big your tank is.

I have a 72" 215G tank and ran 1 powerhead and had plenty of flow and growth. It was pushing 2000-3000GPH

For my tank, I found a single Tunze 6105 at one end is capable of creating an impressive wave from end to end (about 7'). However, a lot depends on how your rocks are placed.

Pensula tanks generally only have power heads on one side. It depends on your and the way it is set up. Big pile of rack in the middle blocking flow?
