PPE & Maul polyps, how much light does yours get???

I don't have a very good light right now... It's old school 1 watt LED, 120 watt Chinese 20k... Both these polyps are on the bottom and have faded and look like crap if they open at all... My system is very clean, and highly skimmed, with only 2 fish at the moment (working on it, but as we all know, money doesn't grow on trees, lol)... They used to do great under the same conditions, but much more light, I'm thinken that's the issue????

Those with direct experience with these polyps plz advise... PAR readings would be awesome as well...

Thank you in advance, Neal...

No PAR but I have the PPE. I had them on the bottom of my 75g with a 4 bulb t-5ho fixture. The color was good and I had better growth than I expected. I have switched to a 210g and have them on the bottom again under Apollo Reef LEDs. They still look good but I can't comment on growth as it's only been a week. They all open well.

PPE's dont like me... i've had lots of frags of these b@stards always do well then just start melting on me or fading away in time... I gave up on PPE's

i might be in the same boat... ive had RPE's as well do great, then jus turn to crap...

im jus looking for advice... i KNOW this isnt an exact science with keeping polyps in captivity, and its always hit or miss...

i asked these same questions before all the drama, got one response. im leaning twords elements of some kind. when i just put up my 210 they did great for a few months, now all the ones i get, when i bother trying again , have just declined. ive been trying to narrow it down.......but its taking some time. i don't think light has anything to do with it. i see them grow directly under halides , and low under just compact fluorescent. i will finger this out.

there is somthing that most SPS tanks dont have(or not anymore) that new, dirty, or poor quality upkeep do have. I will keep looking for answers in my own system.

i posted this in another thread about UC palys

i find that in my dom/SPS tank that high alk(9or10) in a low nitrate environment, i call it the burn factor, that SPS give me way more time to react then palys.

SPS a week or more, Palys get a day or two tops then start to melt. my animals seem happiest at 7.5 alk.

not saying this is the prob, just my outlook with my system. maybe it can help.

also, mine are 10inches from waterline under a 20k 250w MH
