PPE Questions

mine like indirect light from t5s

i bought a few polyps for 50.00 and picked up a few at 25.00 (the 25.00 died after a week) but i got them from a guy in tennessee.

I have the real PPE's from Blane Perun we now have 3rd Generation. All the frags are not available for trade or sale at this time but if you want to send me an email with all your names I can start a list.

So here is what I got from qualityaquatics.com I am trying to give them a chance to redeem themselves, they asked for pictures. These cleary are not PPE's. 137.00 for this frag mind you.

Needless to say I am very unhappy with this. On top of taking 2 and a half weeks to get them to me.

Well, Its not just me its a group of us. Some have them under t5's some have them under MH, I happen to have mine under 4 96w coralife pc's They are slow growers for sure. Its a shame too because they are real nice. The pic I posted was a buddy of mines tank and those were under MH.

mine are under MH also and I think I see the first baby sprout from my original 4 of almost 2 months. I just wondered if it was about the same for others

that sounds about right. At least for the first few then it speeds up to about 1-2 a month.

I have mine under PC's in my nanocube. Have gone from 1 baby polyp to 7 in less than 6 months. High flow seems to do the trick.

I just ordered some from quality as well. I called them up and they say they are original PPE so we will see. There mado is giving great customer service. They are like an hour away so if they don't, you know who will be knocking at there door...

PPE: 03-01-07 --- I had a slight recession last month but they came back around while I was gone for vacation..

I'll post a pic of a PPE that received too much lighting hence developing some whitish speckles... I like both morphs.. they have their own uniqueness.. I dunno if mine are real but it's really hard to trace lineage esp after they become 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, etc generation... just IMHO...

btw, what I found work with these guys and it'll work for any other zoas is "leave them alone".. I know it's hard but everytime I don't touch a frag and let it sit there for couple of weeks, it starts growing... they all need time to settle in before starting to have babies.. they also tend to sprout a baby or two after fragging (might be a survival response)... again, just like any other zoas, they like a nice random flow and decent lighting to thrive...

I would be seriously angry if I were you. I mean what they sent you isn't even the same species as PPE. It's pretty clear they're ripping people off and know it.

That is what I mean by some real PPE. The look alike ones are dull and not as intense in color. I have been trying to get some to stay alive for about 3 years. The ones from Marvin has not only stay alive but has also produce 3 new babies. Thanks again.
