So, why wasnt i shooting in RAW before. I know they're not the best pics, but a lot better then my usual. Comments, tips, and suggestions please.

yeah, thats my favorite also. Im using a Nikon D50 with 18-70mm DX Lens.

Anyone notice that the pics look brighter in photoshop then the exported jpeg?

That's probably a colorspace/profile issue. Are you using Imageready to save for web?

no, i am dragging the NEF file in and making my edits, then i just Save As Jpeg through the file dropdown menu. I think i save at all the maximum values. Can you explain how you do it?

This is a basic article on image posting, which you obviously don't need, but the article goes over the process of compressing picture files with ImageReady. Scroll down to the screenshot of the butterfly-- that's how I do it.
