Prawn goby disappeared/died

I'm looking for culprits at this point, I didn't even find the body. He's not in the filter, or the carpet, I'm pretty sure he didn't go carpet surfing. It was a steinitz goby. His fellow inhabitants, Tiger Pistol shrimp, fridmani dottyback, and skunk cleaner shrimp didn't have anything to say about it. Is it possible the commensal tiger pistol ate him? or maybe his burrow caved in on him? This happened over the weekend when i was gone for two days...

I thought they were pals! I didn't know the pistol shrimp would eat the goby! That sounds plausible, i dismissed that theory when I came up with it... lol. Why would this happen?

How many feet from the tank did you look ?

I had a hi fin goby jump through eggcrate and couldn't find the body until a month later, it was six feet away and under a bed. :(

If they were paired up I doubt the pistol would eat his buddy . Now if the goby died first, a meal is a meal.

Good point, I have a cover on the tank, but i suppose I could search the premises a little better. The goby was perfectly healthy before i left. This always seems to happen when I go on vacation.. sigh.
