After a tank wipe about a year and a half ago,i have successfully re-stocked my 250 gallon FOWLR.
All new fish were quarantined with cupramine at .5 for 2 weeks and up till now everything was fine untill they started to flick and scratch and after much research i can only assume that flukes have got in.
Now cupramine is 'supposed' to kill any external fluke but reading posts here i can see that this isnt so.
There is no way i can get all the fish out and seperately treat in another tank so i am going to prazi the DT.
I run 1 ltr of bio-pellets and an SK3 skimmer and despite heavy feeding my nitrates hover roundabout 10 and PO4 0.
My problem is that during prazi treatment i need to switch my skimmer off but the pellets are hosed directly into the skimmer.
Is it better to...
A: just turn the skimmer off and leave the pellets run.
B: take the pellets offline and somehow keep them 'live' in a seperate bucket for the duration of treatment.
Or has anyone got any other ideas ?
