Prazipro and algae? What is the chemistry?

So, I have had a fluke issue (which thankfully has been managed by prazipro) in my DT. I have treated twice, and both times all the GHA and all nuisance algae for that matter has died after treatment. This is a good thing mind you, just wondering what is actually happening. I also noticed the first time I went through this that the cotals paled and regained color when I slowed/stopped the GFO (two to four weeks after initial treatment). Is there something about prazipro that binds nitrate or phosphate to the point of not supporting algae? Is algea fix just one if the ingredients in Prazipro? Very curious indeed...

I must say I experienced a decline in my algae on the sand bed and back wall of tank after using prazipro... And I'm only on the 3rd day of treatment in my DT.

It would make sense, hence why they say to turn your skimmer off during treatment. I have used PP several times in my DT but never noticed any die off of any algae

I have a fowlr tank which is heavily stocked and overfed and normally requires lots of water changes and cleaning from algae which later develops into red slime if left too long. I run vinegar with it to keep on top of things too. I added another fish recently and dosed with prazi as a precaution. It says it generally goes from the system after 72 hrs so i didnt bother actively changing the water to dilute it, appetite was a little subdued during that time. However, it's miraculous in combating algae 3 weeks later and there's still hardly any algae and certainly no sign of red slime. A blast of ozone to stop the water looking like tea and the tank looks in great shape full of healthy ravenous fish. Quite amazed considering the amount of food thats gone into the tank in the mean time.
