Prazipro and ammonia

Does anyone know if Prazipro contributes to an elevated ammonia level? The instructions say to use a water conditioner to bind ammonia before dosing with Prazipro. My QT had a tiny bit of ammonia before dosing prazi, now, two days later, the ammonia has spiked significantly for no apparent reason. I didn't use Amquel because I had some cupramine in the tank and it is said not to use Amquel if using cupramine. I had to get rid of the cupramine before using prazipro. Thanks.

What do you all have in the QT? (( How many fish, and what size tank )). Did you put in a cycled sponge (( or some other means of bacterial filtration )) ?

Prazipro does not raise ammonia levels. Ammonia is from your fish.
You'll need to drop in a few pieces of live rock or live-bioballs for biofiltration. If you're using cuparmine, you can't use AmQuel or AmGuard, but if you're using just prazipro, then AmQuel or Amguard are ok.

I used an HOB that was in my DT for one week and tank water. Only one small trigger in there. Feeding the trigger very little because of the ammonia spike. QT is 20 gallons. I've been doing large water changes that had controlled the ammonia, and it seemed that the ammonia really spiked after the prazipro. I was just curious because I don't think I've seen any other medication that tells you to always use a water conditionerbefore using it. Thanks.

Prazipro and ammonia

I had and an severe infestion of flukes and treated with Prazilpro for 3 weeks at double dose. My ph dropped at first and i adjusted that with no problem. My problem is with the ammonia test turing orange after every test. I have since dropped some ammonia adsorbers alot with with charcoal to remove the remaining Prazipro. My french and blue angel are eating well along with various other fish. Is the orange reading normal. all the other test came out normal.
