Prazipro directions after TT method?

Currently, all my fish are under going the TT method for ich and doing great. I have my second transfer scheduled for tomorrow morning and plan on doing 4-5 transfers. I plan on moving them to a 20g QT after the TT is finished and will dose Prazipro. I will dose prazipro after a week or so in the QT so I can fatten them up as I understand that Prazi takes away their appetite. I have read that most people dose Prazi, wait for 5 days, do a 25% water change and apply a second dosage to kill the eggs that just hatched. Does this seem like the best way? I have 8-10 weeks to kill so I have no problems with dosing Prazi 2-3 times if needed. Also, should I keep it to the recommended dosage of 1 teaspoon/20g or increase the dosage? Thanks!

Ditto^ I would just dose the recommended dosage. Are you prophylactically treating for flukes or are they confirmed? Your plan looks solid

I'm prophylactically treating for flukes as I have not observed them 100% but have my suspicions. Can you add Amquel w/Prazi? I'm dosing Amquel daily during the TT in order to get rid of ammonia. If I treat them during my TT wouldn't it affect their appetites in an already stressed environment? Just thinking aloud here. Thanks again for any advice.

Can you add Amquel w/Prazi?

I've done it a few times, with no ill effects. However, I've read about people mixing Prazi w/Prime with catastrophic effects. I don't know what the deal is... unless Prime contains something Amquel does not that interacts badly w/Prazi.

FWIW; I've also been reading about folks successfully mixing ammonia reducers with Coppersafe. I know with Cupramine that's a big no-no. Perhaps someone from the Reef Chemistry forum can explain better.

I know that Prime interacts with the amine complex that Cupramine uses to bind Cu+, thus freeing the ionic copper into solution. I would guess that since Coppersafe is copper sulfate, it's likely that Prime does not interact with it chemically.

Yes, the ammonia binders do release more free copper ions by undoing the chelation. CopperSafe is a copper chelate, too, I think, so I'd be careful with it, as well.

Amquel and other such chemicals might be capable of reducing Cu++ to Cu+, so I'd be careful when dosing copper of any form because Cu+ is much more toxic than Cu>sup>++.
