PRE-ORDER: Innovative Marine Nuvo 24

Are you going to be bundling this with lights like the other IM line? I almost got a 16 with a razor but am glad I waited for the 24.

We are planning to make some bundles/kits with LED lights. We'll have to wait until we have the tanks in our warehouse to do it, though. We've got the tanks up for pre-order for early adopters who want to reserve a tank from our first shipment, but we don't want to pair lights with the tanks until we can take one out of the box and play with it, shoot photos, etc. Which we're pretty excited to do, btw. :fun4:

I too, would also be interested in purchasing this tank, but would like to know good light options. Too bad they don't offer the lights included with the 16 for the same price point.

We'd be happy to help you select an appropriate light (or lights) for the new Nuvo Nano 24 from Innovative Marine.

Would you mind answering a few questions to help us narrow things down to a few options? That might eliminate some back-and-forth to get your question answered more quickly.

  1. What animals do you intend to keep in the tank?
  2. What is your budget?
  3. Are advanced features, like timing and dimming control, important to you?

I left this hobby about 8 years ago. Back then I had a 90 gal reef (reef technology has changed a bit!) tank. So what do I do? I jumped into starting a nano tank. Figures, I use to lecture people about owning a larger tank was easier it is to maintain. Funny how many people start this hobby thinking the other way around.

I went into the nano tank because of space and I like challenges what does this have to do with the Nuvo 24? I just bought it from Marine Depot. Few other items were bought from other stores but most of it from MD.

Never thought I would spend $400 on a 24 gal tank but I did. I was tempted to go for the red sea 130d. I liked the design of this tank though.

I am a bit rusty so hopefully my build is not too bad.

Well some bad news. See pics of bottom Pedestal :

Email sent to MD (its Sunday). I hope I don't have to send the tank back. I think they should just be able to send out a replacement Pedestal. I did not see any cracks or physical damage to the tank itself. However, I won't know until I can fill it up.

I am going to return the hydor protein skimmer to amazon (didn't fit in sump) and will look for another.

Must of had a brain fart when ordering nuvo 16 filter media. Not sure if its even worth sending back.

Next I need to try out the lights soon and make sure they work.

Just ordered AquaMaxx HOB-1 from MD (I really needed a promo code lol). I hope this will work out and fit ok. I guess I will see.

We're awfully sorry to hear about the broken pedestal. That is certainly unfortunate! However, there is no reason you'd need to send the entire tank back. Not sure if you've heard back from our support team yet, but it's more than likely we can make arrangements to simply send you a new pedestal to replace the broken one.

I did but a bit of mixed response I was hoping for. They are going to have the manufacture send me a replacement directly. I was told that they should have an update soon. I concerned how long that will take.

I am also not sure if I made a mistake doing a 24gal nano. I am starting to think maybe I should of went to a LFS and picked up a larger glass tank.

We're sorry to hear you're having second thoughts about the tank. Please know your satisfaction is all that really matters to us. Here's a link to setup a return online should you decide it's not for you.

Innovative Marine has excellent customer support so we suspect a replacement pedestal will be shipped sooner than later. We carry a lot of spare parts for AIO-style tanks, but unfortunately pedestals are not among them. :worried2:
 
I decided to keep the tank. I love the design and if it was a 40 gallon that would be even better. The 38 cube wasn't much of an interest to me. I just received the tracking number for the replacement pedestal should have it may 30th.

How come marine depot does't stock larger acrylic tanks with built in filters? I get why some use a sump, even my old 90 had a sump with a refugium but I like the built in filter/sump idea.
