Innovative Marine Nuvo 24

I decided to keep the tank. I love the design and if it was a 40 gallon that would be even better. The 38 cube wasn't much of an interest to me. I just received the tracking number for the replacement pedestal should have it may 30th.

How come marine depot does't stock larger acrylic tanks with built in filters? I get why some use a sump, even my old 90 had a sump with a refugium but I like the built in filter/sump idea.

We do sells some acrylic tanks, although we'd be happy to ask our purchasing department about exactly what you have in mind.

Would you mind replying with a couple of links we can send to them as samples? That would be super helpful. Thanks, Crimson!

40 Gallon Rectangular Systems ll Acrylic Aquarium 36x15x16
or
Clear For Life Rectangle Acrylic UniQuarium 40 Gallon
Problem is the only sources I found are from tanksdirect.com and petco/petsmart.

Though I have some concerns with acrylic tanks. Clouding/Scratches/stress fractures/.

I thought about ordering a breeder style maybe the 50 tall 36x18x16 or the 40 long 36 x 18 x 12. With this on the back:

I think I jumped the gun on the nuvo tank. I just would feel bad on returning it (its still dry and hasn't touched water). My problem with the nuvo 24 is the width. It's not wide enough for my liking. The rest of it I love.

We forwarded the links you provided to our purchasing department. We have a bit of a skeleton crew today since it's a holiday weekend so I don't anticipate hearing back from them until next week so thank you in advance for your patience.

We have a generous 60-day return policy so as long as the tank stays dry you're welcome to return it. You still have plenty of time to mull it over. Remember, we only want you to be happy, so no hard feelings on our side. If you do send it back, we definitely recommend insuring the shipment so you'll be covered in the event of, well... just to be safe. Perhaps there's someone local you can sell the tank to so you don't have to send it back?

We'll get back to you once hear something from the purchasing team.

What reactor does the Nuvo 24 fit? Will a tunze 9002 fit?

It's pretty tight in the back. It's a little less than 3" deep. The 9002 measures 4.9" L x 2.1" W x 13.3" H. We're pretty sure you could turn the skimmer sideways and it will fit, but you'll also need to keep the water level high back there to ensure it skims properly. The magnetic mount will still work even if it's mounted sideways.

We know for sure the AuqaGadget Nuvo SkimMate Nano Protein Skimmer Desktop fits (confirmed by Innovative Marine).

We reached out to Innovative Marine on your behalf and they told us that "Eshopps, Aquatic Life, Tunze Nano will fit" and "others include mame and any other airstone-driven skimmer."

Most likely I will keep the tank. The cost of shipping it back is not really worth it. Anyway, having a smaller tank will save me some money too. I really do like the tank, only big negative in my mind is the 8"D usable for stock and not 12.2.

In regards to selling it. Well, we all know the resell value plummets on most gear in this hobby. So selling it locally (NJ) most likely won't happen.

Anyway, you guys (MD) have been great thank you!

You're very welcome. Our Director of Operations may be setting up one of these in his office. Not sure if he'll go fresh or salt, since he dabbles in both. We have a Nuvo 38 in our break room. Needless to say, we're fans of the tanks! Hopefully you can make good use of it. :fish1:
