Hi

I want to get this skimmer in the next month or so (just graduated from college and im still suffering through this part time job till my real job starts) and due to lack of space inside my sump I need an external skimmer that is short. My sump is an arylic sump. I'll let the picture explain what I was thinking.

(this angle would be if oyu saw it from the front of the sump)

Can I do this if I drill it and then use a bulkhead?

Lastly, on their website the pump suggestions are different from what oyu guys suggest. Whose right?

Hello Eddie,

Thank you for your post, it looks as if your going in the right direction and should work just fine, just make sure you set up a way for the water to flow back down into the sump. As far as the pump goes I saw on PM's website that they suggested a Mag 9, unfortunately a Mag 9 does not exist unless it's meant to be a Mag 9.5 ( could be a typo) We recommend that you use the Mag7 as listed or the Sen 700 either pump will work fine, I would check with Precision marine about using the Mag9.5 in my opinion it could be too much flow. I hope this information was helpful to you.
