Prefilter for Tunze Streams?

Hi there,
Was wondering if anyone has used prefilters for their Tunze Streams or know if it would be possible and not damage the powerhead or restrict flow too much?

Reason I ask is I have RBTA that keep splitting. They settle down and after a few weeks go wondering around and get sucked in and shredded.

The only one that doesn't do this is the parent colony that is maintained by two true percs.

Other than removing them and selling them off does anyone have any suggestions?

I would suggest a Stream rock as it covers most of the pump but short of that I would try plastic window screen.

Thanks, I'll try the plastic window screen. Stream rock would cost too much as I would have to buy three.
