Pretty sure I Killed it all

Woke up this morning to my new chalice looking like hell. Most of it is just skeleton, a few mouths still have color, but mostly looks dead. My pulsing Xennia are shriveled to practically nothing. My purple mushroom looks like a blob of jelly, and my sinularia hasn't stretched out at all. The only thing I have done is drip a gallon of kalk over 2 days. Could that have raised the ph too fast? Anyone have ideas to try to save this stuff? I wish I had a proper test kit, I have dip strips that show all is ok..... one of those days I just want to trow the whole tank out the window. Oh this is a 10 gal nano of sorts.

Hi, I would do a 80% water change with a well mixed salt water. 1 gallon of Kalk for a 10 gallon tank over two days is too much, too fast.

Yeah that's what I figured. I had remembered running it that fast, but I think it was ultra low lime mix that other time.... Lack of sleep + Reefing = Fail

You shouldn't need to drip/dose anything on a nano. weekly partial water changes should do the trick as far as keeping levels stable. dripping anything into a nano other than topoff water is a crash waiting to happen.

Man this is so sad to hear! Best bet it to do what the others suggested and do a massive water change to remove as much of the Kalkwasser as possible. 80% will help. Then, hopefully things will turn around for you.

With nanos as small as yours, you should be able to maintain proper levels of everything with weekly water changes. There's plenty of everything in Reef Crystals to make up for any sort of dosage you could do. Also, grab some test kits too. Even the cheap API will do, it's what I use. And, if things don't work out, I'm sure there's more than a few of us on here that will gladly donate some frags to you to get things going again. Maybe time to bump up to a bigger tank? The Petco dollar per gallon is pretty awesome and it runs for another week and a half or so!! a 20 long is a perfect tank size for you man!! Good luck and let us know what happens.
