Also known as psuedocorynactis. Spelling might be off as my phone likes to change things. Generally harmless and will most likely stay in the shaded areas out of the light.

Had an orange tip ball anemone for years and it was really cool. An amorphous blob during the day, but really cool at night. Requires target feeding though.

I had 2 on a chunk of LR. I noticed 1 when I was fragging some button polyps off of it, the other I guess died.

^^^ probably a result of not spot feeding

So here is my question im hearing good and bad about these ball anemone and not sure if I should take them out all thats in the tank currently is cata something anemone and a clown fish. I have the upgrade in lighting ready to install and havent decided which corals I want to keep and the gf threw the idea of anemone tank . So would like feed back as I am currently researching that last idea lol

If you are hearing bad things about ball anemones, my guess would be someone has misidentified their aptasia or majano as a ball anemone. Ball anemones are harmless filter feeders that are typically (not always) found in dark areas of the tank. Mine never seemed to impair any corals they were near.

They won't take off in an anemone specific tank without some specific care, and even then due to them being mostly clear, I wonder if the visual appeal would be worth the effort. If you see tanks that look like ball anemones, but are bright red or orange, those are a strawberry anemone type that are found in cold water (Oregon/Washington/N.Cal) and will not thrive without chillers and a dedicated NPS tank. Good luck.

I have a couple in my tank isolated on one piece of LR. I haven't had any issues with them. They in a dark and shaded area.

I'd actually prefer them to live as they are very neat looking.
