The US dollar is dropping more and more. The Canadian $ is not worth the US $. This, combined with the increasing value of the Euro, could spell the eventual death of imports to the US. Its time we start making our own stuff it looks like!
Yes, it is true. Current prices are based on a Euro being $1.28, it was $1.43 yesterday and those are prime rates and not the rates seen in small transfers but the rates seen when transferring millions of dollars so it is actually even lower. We have looked into the problem as much as possible and it seems like the dollar will probably be stable at this rate for some years and the factory had no choice but to raise the price.
