Prime & Cupramine

I know that using the two are a no-no. My other half had made change water using Prime. He had filled the hospital tank (treating for velvet) with tank water. Long story short, I think some fresh change water was all ready in the system (180 + 150) before the hospital tank was totally filled.

I've added a big bag of carbon to the hospital tank to let that run through for a while. But how long until I can remove that and add the cupramine? I've got to get these fish transferred, but don't want to kill them either.

Is this the water in the hospital tank totally useless? Or will the carbon pull out any possible Prime that's in there?

Will bacteria break eventually break down any prime or amquel added say 2 weeks ago.. or should a 100% water change be performed before treating with cupramine?

At least Amquel will be consumed by neutralizing ammonia. The end product will be digested by bacteria. The bottle of Amquel tells how much ammonia each dose will consume.

In the case of Prime I believe it is safe to add Cupramine 48 hours later, if I remember correctly from Seachem.
