Prime HD or Hydra 26

Going to get a Red Sea reefer 250 and I plan on getting beginner corals... I plan on getting two...of each... which would you get? I am new to coral growth, just don't want to spend the extra bucks if it's not needed

Well.. it depends on what "bells and whistles" you want..
Either are good "brand name" lights..

You can get out for under $200 total (2 lights) off Amazon,etc.. 165W Chinese Black Boxes and they grow corals just fine..

Two AI Primes will be enough. Another option is Kessil 160 but more pricey.

Truthfully the Hydra 26 would be better. It is a bit more money but it will completely cover your tank and allow you to place corals anywhere.

It'll also allow you to add some harder corals when they time comes. We all start with the easy stuff but usually start to dig in to the harder things like SPS which will require more light.

My personal opinion, go the bigger route. That way you will always be covered and you will also be able to use these on bigger tanks when you upgrade.
