Pro bio S + bio pellet

Anybody tried this combination before, able to share the result?

Currently I'm still facing high nitrate 30ppm problem with the use of bio pellet. I have tried to skim harder and my PO4 to NO3 ratio is in balance 0.175 : 30

My last guess will be lacking of bacteria, hence will like to try adding Pro bio S.

Bio pellet is running for 2 months.

I haven't tried the combo but before you do try it....have you noticed the bio pellets getting consumed? Most importantly have you noticed more skim from your skimmer? I'm all for the dual if needed but I have stopped using both since algae scrubber.

yes, i do notice the pellet got reduced but no significantly and I'm getting quite a bit of skim mate daily that I have to clean the skimmer neck to ensure the performance.

My only concern is the bacteria don't go well with bio pellet.

Idk I mean it's extra bacteria the only issues I see is that the bio pellets get eaten WAY faster and the way you replace them could be bad on the system.

Agree, I'm just aiming to reduce the PO4 < 0.1 and NO3 < 10.

I'm no looking at ULNS.

I'm putting in coral in my tank soon, so will like to ensure the water quality is acceptable.
