probidio/vodka questions

thinking of trying the probidio products, just so much easier to dose 1 time a week, rather than daily. anyone have any thoughts on this system?

i generally run 2/3 cup of gfo, changed every month or so. should i take this offline if i try dosing? what about running gac? keep running or take offline?
thanks

thanks jeffie.
your tank was what inspired me to try it. wondering if you could give a little more info on your system. do you run any other carbon/gfo? chaeto? dosing 2 part? what kind?
thanks!

i am going to use the BioDigest and Bioptim. every other week alternating

along with a little reefbooster every month or so...
only question is about how to "start" them. should i go ahead and take carbon/gfo offline? then which product do i start with? one of each to start, then alternate?
which one first?

mayjong,
I bet it'll work good for ya. I've heard good things about the prodibio stuff.

I am using reef digest and bioptm and am very happy. I was still supplementing vodka, and some zeo nutrients like pohls and k balance, and flatworm stop. I have stopped supplementing for now and the tank is really coming together! Colors are starting to pop similar to a zeo tank. I am running carbon and have even stopped using rowa. I will bring these things online as needed. If the colors keep doing what their doing and the nitrates, phosphates stay in check then I will just keep doing what works. It's nice to know I have a fall back. The only thing I continue to use that I may be off on is UV so far it is ok so time will tell. I can't seem to get a good answer as to UV killing the reef digest bacteria? Keep in mind I have a established setup with very stable Alk, Mag, and Calcium numbers.

I have used it when I first setup my system in Roseville along with vodka dosing. Once the system is established/matured I stopped dosing biodigest and vodka altogether. It is no longer needed.

just an update.
i dosed both biodigest and bioptim a week ago. last night the wife and i were sitting on the couch, and she said "does the fishtank water look clearer to you?" keep in mind, this is from someone who hardly ever gets involved in the tank.
you know what? i think she is right, it DOES look clearer than usual (which i would have not thought possible, how does clear water get MORE clear?)
it also appears as though there is a little less algae on the back wall, too. that part could be my imagination (as could the clear water) . but we'll see.
gonna dose both again this week, then go to one (bioptim) every other week and the other (diodigest) every other week. i'll alternate weeks, so i'll be dosing one or the other every week.
stand by....
