I have a 100g - 48" tank & I currently have a powder brown tang & a blue tang. do you guys think i could safely add a HYT & PBT? how about HYT & purple tang?

any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!

I would not add any more tangs to this tank. As it stands, the blue will probably eventually outgrow the tank. What else is in there? Maybe we can recommend some alternatives...

if you must add another, I'd lean towards the Ctenocheatus genus. Kole, tomini, chevron, etc. I surely wouldnt add a powder blue with a powder brown, and assuming HYT means yellow tang, it's not a great combo with the puple tang from the same genus.

In any case, I'd not recommend any more additions without knowing more about the setup, including other tank inhabitants and filtration.

kole tang or tomini sounds gounds good guessing that your tank isn't at the max on bioload. chevrons get to big for a tank that size.

+1 for not adding PBT with powder brown. I tried that in a 200g awhile back and they dont get along imo, the browns are very agressive to most tangs..i think thats enough tangs for your tank.

You have enough. You should be happy with the powder brown they are pretty tough to keep as it is. Also they are quite territorial, so you will have a problem adding another tang to the tank.
