Problem with 6060 - reversing

A friend of mine is operating a 6060 pump that is presenting a reversing problem. Every couple of hours, the pump will reverse and will start sucking water....... the only way to make the pump stop doing that is to unplug it.

What could be happening ? Could that be fixed ?

That usually indicates the brake system is broken. The usual cause is use on a wavemaker. He needs a new drive unit 6080.60 to repair it.

Thanks Roger..... We live in Chile were we have no authorized dealer. Do you think it can be repaired in here or it needs to be done by somebody that knows the product ?

Probably the fastest and cheapest is to just order the drive unit, it is pretty simple to install.
