Problem with kalk

I have my ATOvwater mixed with kalk and its dosing into my refugium. The problem is the cheato is turning white and the skimmer is getting kalk residue inside it. Do most people have this problem? where do you guys dose your kalk?

From everything I've read, kalk is supposed to be dosed in an area of high flow. I'm not sure how much water movement you have in your 'fuge, but in mine it is relatively slow. I drip dose my top off with kalk in the main tank overnight, right in front of a powerhead.

I have my return dumping into my refugium then goes in the skimmer section. I think its pretty high flow.

Are you monitoring pH? If it gets too high, even locally, you'll start to get precipitation of CaCO3. The inside of my sump gets such preciptiate very near where I add limewater, even with very high flow.

people all have diffrent idea's on what a high flow area is, i have my ato dump right into my main pump @ 1200 gph. Local hi ph is easy to achieve in sumps.

My ATO drips onto the foam blocks in my sump just before the return pump.
I have nver had any problems.
