Problem with Tunze 1073.040 pump

First off, great pump. Silent, cool running, and built like a little tank.

However, the flow control dial for me seems to have no effect.. Whether fully left or fully right, the flow seems to be the same.. Any way to troubleshoot this? I assume with the dial turned fully to the left it should be "wide open", while turned to the right it should be "minimum flow", but again I see no difference in flow. The dial just clicks as I turn it without any perceived effect on the pump.

thanks

If you take off the grey rectangular cover over the intake you should be able to see the flow control mechanism. It will be an inner drum that opens and closes as you twist the knob, it covers the intake slots. My guess is this is stiff and you are actually twisting the impeller cover off and on instead of turning just the knob.

Ok, I'll take a look tonight. So the suggested solution would be to take it apart and clean it and/or make sure the parts are fitting together properly? It's a new pump and has never been dissasembled.

No, just take the front decorative cover off, the grey rectangular one that is around the adjustment knob, you can then see the adjustment mechanism and see if it opens and closes. I am guessing the whole front impeller cover is twisting and you just need to hold that and twist the adjustment knob to get it freed up and moving seperately.
