Problems with my 6025's

Roger,

I just bought (2) 6025's from Marine Depot a month ago. At first both seemed to work fine, but now I am having trouble with both pumps. First I have a pump that is noisy it rattles every time it runs. The prop on the same pump also does not start turning every time it is turned on. It seems as it is getting stuck. I actually have to reach in and flilck the prop with a wood skewer to get it moving. On my second 6025 I get the same problem with the stuck prop, but this one has an issue running the correct direction. It only starts in the right direction one in 10 times. At first I had these running on my ACJr. with a 30 minute interval but they have become so unreliable that I have to run them both all of the time or manually switch them on and off myself. Can I get these replaced or repaired they have only been running a month?

Thanks,
Brian

You will likely find the shafts came out of the socket, the other possibility is the disk is missing, the disk is a white washer spacer at the bottom of the shaft. If it is just the disk I can send one. If it is the shaft we will replace your pumps. Open them up and see what you find.

Roger,

I just got done pulling both pumps and they both have the white disks. After cleaning them and putting them back The one that was making noise is still making noise but it did run in the right direction on the first try. The second pump had to be restarted 6 times before it ran in the right direction (no wood skewer intervention). The second runs quiet. After running for a while I stopped each of the pumps and restarted them both, neither prop is turning at all after the restart. I had tried several restarts with no luck. I turned both on and flicked each prop with the wood skewer and got them both to run. What's next?

I have the same problem with them starting in the correct direction. They never startt in the right direction for me either. Other than that they are awesome pumps. Is there any solution to this?

How long have you had them? Have you tried removing the drive units and check that they lift up easily? I recently got one back and the problem was fine sand had built up between the drive unit and the shaft so the drive unit was not able to move forward to reverse itself.

Roger,

Thanks again for your prompt resolution I appreciate your customer service. The new pumps are running well and I shipped back the others yesterday.

Thanks,
Brian
