Problems with my osmolater ato

I am transitioning tanks right now, and have a 5017 osmolater. It was hooked up to the other tank for over 6 months, worked flawlessly. I put it in the sump on my new tank, and it gets stuck on, constantly filling. This actually caught me off-gaurd and dropped my salinity down from 1.026 to 1.024 very quickly.
I thought it might have been positioning as the fuge light was pretty close to the optic sensor, so I turned the light off, same thing. I moved the sensor to a different spot in less lighted area. Seemed to be working ok, was filling a bit at a time as now Im watching the thing like a hawk. Thought all was well, then it came on and didnt shut off again. This time, I had the pump in a salt water mix, so no drop on the salinity, but still staying on. The water level goes way above the optic sensor. The float switch is higher up in the sump so the alarm dosnt go on when I shut the return pump off for feeding, so i cant utilize this as a shut off. The new spot where the optic sensor is also has no wave action at all, as I thought that may have been the problem in the sump.
I just switched it on again this morning, and same thing, just staying on over the sensor height.
What else can i try ? What is the cause of the problem here ?
( I did flush the pump with ro water after pumping salt water through it )
Any suggestions ?

I had the same problem for some reason in my sump, did you check if the sensor was covered with air bubbles,at times it does not read the water level as well. So I settled for a litermeter,it is more reliable and accurate. I end up returning mine to premium aquatics because it also overfilled my sump.

My best guess would be something magnetic is affecting the controller. Bubbles may be an issue but this is typically only common on brand new osmolators as the new plastic has a strong affinity for attracting bubbles. Since it worked for 6 months elsewhere, I suspect either a magnetic holder or cleaner or a ballast or large pump is too close to the controller and the magnetic field is directly switching the controller.

I dont think anything magnetic is close to the controller, the return pump is in the vicinity but Ill move the control box to another spot to see if this helps-thanks !
