Prodibio BioKit - Will start on Monday evening

So I recieved my order today and I am going to start dosing tonight this is the regimine that I am going to follow (I looked at the above posting so I think this is correct). I have a 58 gallon tank with two sumps with a total volume of about 25 gallons. My total volume would be about 95 to 100 gallons.

Week 1
Tuesday - Biodigest - 2 amp (1 per 50 gallons)
Friday - Biotim - 1 amp

Week 2
Tuesday - Biodigest - 1 amp per 100g
Friday - Biotim - 1 amp

Week 2 will be the same for the remanider of the 5 weeks. I will not dose any trace elements, coral food or AA for the 6 weeks as well, unless I start to see some of my corals starting to turn pale, then I will start dosing a small amount of trace elements and AA but only in small doses, I will not use any corals foods until 6 weeks is done.
I think in what I have read and advice that has been given to me that this should work. I followed project reefs regimine, I just want to make sure that I am right about the TC and AA, I do understand from what you guys told me is to hold off as long as possible on TC, AA, and coral foods. (just don't want to lose any corals either)
Thanks again for the advice I will post some pics tonight before I start dosing, so I have before and after and I will try to also take pics each week.

Sorry if this has been answered already but when i dose iodi and stronti in a 55gallon do i dose the whole vial or just half of it...the instructions say 1amp per 400liters or (105gal)

I finally took the plunge and got a starter kit a few days ago... I've been thinking about it for a while and I recently found out my local reef shop has been using Prodibio with great success... so that pushed me over the edge and he wants me to feature my tank as a "sponsor" of Prodibio at his shop...

Friday I will begin and hopefully everything will work successfully...

Update: The tank is looking good. My new skimmer is broken. CoralVue is sending me a replacement pump, but I have to want another 10 days to install since I am going on vacation.

Im on the train- Got on friday and Dosed 2 x amp of bio digest and now last night - (Tuesday) Just dosed my first bioptim.

I will currently monitor po4 and no3 no3 as of before Friday dosing were 0.2

Coral Update

I am only using BioClean for the past month. I am very happy with the way my corals and the tank overall is responding:

No photoshop. The is all the T5s on. Remember, I removed my MH lights on Aug. 9, 2008. I don't miss the shimmer. I hope my electric bill is lower.

What would be the best approach for me to start off with Prodibio..?? I am reading 0 for Nitrate and Nitrite with InstantOcean test kits... I also picked up a phosphate test kit, but haven’t had time to test that yet...

I first started with the Reef Kit. After dosing the Reefboost a couple of time, I notice a negative effect on my tank.

So, I did a 30g water change and started using the BioClean in my tank for about 2 months. Next month I will order the Reefboost and use it in my system.

I suggest using the BioClean for at least a month to be sure your tank is clean and ready for coral food. Next, start the ReefBoost.

I ordered some of the KZ amino acids today too... I may try adding some of those before starting the Prodibio, since my tank is reading 0 across the board and I'm anly trying to Prodibio to bring back the colors in my corals...

Hi, everyone~

In locally the biodigest have two package ,one is 30 billion bacteria per ampoule other one is 50 billion on the package sticker, somebody said the 50 billion it's new pockage,I'm doubt of this things can anyone please tell me that's ture with 50 billion it's new product.

what test kit did you use for measuring phosphate? Most test kits will give you a zero reading but the phosphates are never actually 0.

Your tank is amazing. From the time you started this thread to the present, you have some very noticeable improvements. Great job. What changes do you think has played a major role in your improvements?

I dosed my first day this morning... I started with the Digest and will be alternating each week for the first 6 weeks then starting with the booster and other supplements at that time... hopefully this wont cause my tank to crash...!!!!

Thanks for the compliment...

Thanks for the compliment...

I won't tell you it was easy for me. A few things really improved my tank (excluding starting Prodibio), I got a new skimmer (Octopus Pro 250), new sump to hold the bigger skimmer and removing the mud (rocks and plant only), use AA and Zeo Spur 2.

The skimmer allows me to dose the tank without fear of overdosing and I can feed often. I am using an auto feeder to feed the fish twice a day. The skimmer takes the stuff out fast. I stopped using the Reefbooster, but I do plan to use it once I am out of the AA I am currently using.

I keep my MG around 1400 and biweekly water changes (15G). I change the carbon (1.5 cup in reactor) monthly. CA=450, ALK=10.2.

Biweekly:
Prodibio BioClean
15G Water Change (Oceanic salt or Kent)

Weekly:
5ml Iron
5ml Stong
2ml Zeovit Spur2
5ml AA

Daily:
one drop of Iodide (Lugo solution)
1 ml vodka
feed twice fish food

I have a CA reactor and Kalk reactor (ro/di auto feed system)

I am going to get new corals after the hurricane season to add some serious colors to the tank. I have removed two large fish and I plan to add several small colorful fish to the tank. I honestly believe the tank is ready for the expensive stuff. That means more OT and a special account at the bank (NO CREDIT CARDS, paypal or cash only).

I may do a car wash to support my new goal for the tank. (smile)
I went to a store in Orlando, FL (World Wide Coral) and was total sold on the ideal to add "collector" corals to the tank."

I will set a budget and shop wisely.

Oh, one other important thing I did, I removed the 2-250w MH lights. I run 6 - T5s only. The corals are growing and doing very well.

I got to go, sitting in Midway Airport and the plane is about to bored. Good luck everyone...

I know Prodibio changed the formula on the biodigest many months ago, they put a sticker on top stating "new formula"

I turn my skimmer off after dosing any Prodibio products, I don't want anything being skimmed if i can help it.
Sometimes I leave the skimmer off all day, you don't have to run a skimmer 24/7 everything should do just fine.

I was talking with a couple french guys from Prodibio last weekend, it is pretty cool that they come out here every year to talk to hobbiest's one on one.
I think thats pretty good customer support there, it's too bad it is only once per year though.

That said I think I am close to 2 years into Prodibio now and the tank is looking great and I've never had any negative issues only positive.

Oh and the new "pro" large amp version of optim is now double ended so once you break both ends it dumps out and you dont have to shake it out.
I thought that was a great idea.

I just ran through my last set of BioDigest and Bioptim vials. I'm wondering whether it would be as effective to just order the BioDigest (bacteria) and dose vodka as a carbon source in lieu of the Bioptim.

Any input would be appreciated

Rick
