Prodibio BioKit - Will start on Monday evening

Using just a few of the Zeo products once you are ULNS can make quite a differenct in your corals colors. GO on to their forums and chat with them they have tons of helpful info and advice. I am in the process of getting ULNS and have zeo supps i am using to try and get my corals popping. But my no3 and po4 is still existing so i thought I would use this method to get rid of that and realy start dosing the zeo stuff.

What improvements are you looking from Prodibio? I am using the stuff and I wish my corals look as good as your's.

as i had mentioned in an earlier post ....i am looking for a sort of zeo color pop to the corals......i don't know....maybe i will never be satisfied with my tank (thats what worries me if i ever upgrade), i know there could be more color improvement because i have had a few colorful frags that have lost their color and have not regained it back (bright pink birdsnest for example) after 3 months of growth.

Did not follow your posts, but if you are looking for Zeo results, why not just go to Zeo?

i did'nt want to make things overly complicated , people with succesful zeo systems seem to have a zeolite reactor (that needs to be agitated once per day) and a whole lot of diff additives that vary from drops daily to weekly (depending on the additives).

when i came across the probidio thread , it looked like all i would need to do is add biodigest and bioptim to maintain tank with reef booster for amino acids.

i have a refugium w/cheato (which seems to have slowed/stopped growing) and deep sand bed in display tank, i thought that somewhere along the zeo thread it recommemded bare bottom tanks. i am in no way knocking probidio , i simply stated that i have'nt seen much difference in aquiring brighter colors from my corals.

like i said earlier.....i like the fact that i don't have to dose other additives every couple of days, growth seems to be doing fine, and it seems like my nitrates have been consistantly kept into low ppm.

I have installed the Octopus Pro 250. I hope to be able to feed my corals without worrying about under-skimming.

I am using Zeovit Spur 2 and Prodibio BioClean. I want the pop in colors!!!

Ok, the new sump and skimmer are installed and working properly. I have dose AA and Spurs 2. I will dose BioClean on Friday since it has been a week since the last dose.

I hope with then new skimmer it will pull any access matter from the water. My buddy suggested I get a trace element to dose.

I have been dosing the biodigest and v/s/v mix for a while and now i npticed that my no3 is not depleting. My po4 is undetectable by my no3 is around 40 and climbing as i was advised to increase fedding to get the po4 up but it seems to have addeed to my no3 issue, increasing the pollutants. has anyone encountered this and if so what remedy have you done to resolve the rising no3 issue. I have tried chemicals and media with no luck. My next option is to do a 30-40 galllon water changeto cut my no3 in hlaf then do another big water change to half it again but before i do this i wanted to see if anyone had other ideas.

I had this problem. I also tried more feeding to increase PO4 and had the same results. Just more NO3. I corrected by less feeding, filter socks changed out daily, and WC's.

Thanks kristen I think I am gonna do a massive water change then construct a coil denitrator to see if this will resolve the problem with the left over no3 after a water change (30-40gallons) and then remove the no3 completly once its established, the coil denitrator.

Has anyone had a problem with their Ph dropping after staring on prodibio?

I started three weeks ago and I have noticed a steady decline. I have a 39g stocked mostly with sps. I am three weeks into the nutrient reduction phase. I am using this dosing scehdule:

7/19- 1 amp digest
7/23- 2/3 amp bioptim
7/26- 1 amp digest
7/30- 2/3 amp bioptim
8/2- 1 amp digest
8/6- 2/3 amp bioptim

Maintence phase:
8/16- 1 amp biodigest
8/23 - 2/3 bioptim

ect...

My water parameters are:

Alk- 8 dkh
Calc- 460
mag- 1400
ph- 7.6- 7.9 ( Before prodibio this was 7.9-8.1)
Temp-79-81.5
Salinity_ 35ppt

I have noticed that I am adding less 2 part to maintain my levels of calcium and alk. I used to dose 6 ml of both everyday and now 3ml every other day has kept my levels where I want them. My calcium has been creeping up a little as it is usually 440. My frags are showing good growth in the last 2 -3 weeks and the colors are stating to improve. I haven't noticed any stress from the lower Ph yet.

What would be the best way to get my Ph up without raising alk?
I have read that dkh levels above NSW are not desirable when using bacteria and carbon dosing.

I had Nitrates in the 180+ range. I built a sulfur denitrator and it helped to get them down to around 20-40 range. I was stuck there for a couple months. I removed the denitrator and it still stayed around 20-40. I purchased the AZ N03 and within a week 0 Nitrates. I quit using it and my Nitrates are still 0 2 months later.

I have not tried this but i am willing to give it a shot, did it have any ill effects on your live stock? I mean 20 bucks hell I am about to spend that much building a coil dentrator and use that for a few weeks so this is worth a shot. How quick did it lower your no3?

They went from around 30-40 to 0 in about a week or 10 days

I would let the PH go if you are not seeing any harm in your corals then i wouldnt worry about it. My tank runs 7.7-7.9 without any ill effect and corals are still growing. Just worry about keeping your alk stable as this is the most important and then worry about keeping your calcium at a high enough rate.

Thank you Volcom69. As long as my corals keep looking this good I will not worry so much. I am getting some of the best PE I have seen on a few of my frags, and the colors are really starting to come in. I don't think I am at ULN yet as I still have some macro algaes and short turf stuff that is looking healthy.

I think I am going to get another Alk test kit just to make sure mine is giving me correct results. I have been using the API, but I think I am going to try the Salifert.

SPS sure are addictive. This is my first time trying them out and I am hooked.
