Prodibio

I have ever had anyone else charge my card 2 mos before shipping the order. None of the other vendors do this and I have had merchandise on backorder for a long time. They charge your card when they ship, not when they tell you it is on backorder.

I agree with Marylin. Premium Aquatics and Marine Depot do not charge until items ship. For awhile, I was wondering if he was going to run off with all the cash and close shop.

It's just not a good business sense. I will gladly take my business elsewhere. If Rob is not willing to earn it, while many others are, then I will find them and give them an opportunity to earn my biz.

Yes, many many businesses do not charge you until back ordered items ship. I would avoid any business that does unless it is a custom order or special circumstances.

Sorry about the backorder situation folks. If they don't send the product from France, they don't send it. Prodibio France cited some WWII festival, UPS Closures, Interzoo conference. It was a mess. We stated this on our website repeatedly.

I'm sorry your extras fell through the cracks, we'll check your order, and send some out your way.

As far as charging the credit cards, that is a function of the Miva Merchant software that I, and many other online vendors use. Scott, you also used Paypal to pay for your order. Premium Aquatics has charged me several times for backordered items, they charge me, highlight the missing items in yellow, and then ship out the other stuff when they get it. This has often been the case with Joe's Juice, and various Salifert products.

Mike, thanks for putting in a good word for us. We admit the mistake; we had 137 backorders to ship out, I'm glad there were this few. With this many, there were hundreds of emails, requesting status of the backorder, current stock, requesting a refund, etc. A few were unanswered, but not due to malintent.

Scott, you should be receiving your UPS tracking number in your email shortly.

I for one have not had a problem with Robsreef . I see how if you didn't get the product you can't send the product though .

I thought I heard somewhere that Prodibio was sold to another company . This may have been a big reason for delay of product from France . <------ not sure though

Either way it really isn't Robs fault for delay of shipments .

Just my thoughts

On to another note . How is everyones tanks doing ?

Checked my PO4 yesterday and I'm down to 0.02 got to like that .

I am just into week 3, my PO4 is un-meareable with my salifert test kit ( I'm still running Rowaphos to get rid of some problem HA, so I'm sure that has lot to do with that) No sign of nitrates. Seems like my pods are exploding even more than before. All of my SPS are extending nicley and are growing new buds...so far so good. Could just be I'm taking good care or this stuff is helping...too early too tell?

Not to beat a dead horse but just an FYI -
I have had numerous items backordered from Premium Aquatics, Custom Aquatics and Marine Depot. They have never charged my card prior to shipping the items. This is the first I have heard of this practice.

I really can't help that the software works this way. Maybe their software works differently, as they are the Walmart, KMart, and Target of the online marine business.

IIRC, we did offer you a refund as soon as you contacted us on 5/13/2006 about being displeased with the backorder, there is not much else we could do. We shipped it out to you three hours after we unpacked our order from France.

I hope you enjoy using the products.

I just recieved my Saltwater Correct Salt and Stonium solution. I am currently mixing a 50 gal batch and I added the stronium today. I am going to stop the Prodibio stronium and continue with the SC. I will probably replace the Prodibio iodine with the Saltwater Correct stuff to. The web site is http://www.gettankedaquariums.com/

I have some weird tissue and polyp extension. The tissue on a lot of acros looks fleshy, swollen, bumpy. The polyps do not extend as before and when they do they sorta balloon out of the coralite and the polyps are tuliped, like taking all your fingers and touching the tips together. Acros do not seem stressed, growth is the same and colors are better in some and not in others. I do have RB's but I have never heard of this type of symptom. I also have lived with RB's off and on for a long time so I know their effects on my corals. After I feed the tank some acros extend lots of mesenteries fibers.

I noticed the tissue change before 4/17.

I started Prodibio 4/01

I started Reefresh 4/17

I stopped Prodibio Digest and Bioptim on 5/20

Polyp condition has gotten worse over the course.

I dosed nothing today.

I want to know of anyone else has noticed anything similar. I have pics if ya want to see.

PS.........I have lost a ton of zoo's. I have also had trouble with some LPS.

How is the tank now?I had a simalar thing happen a early last year with Polyps balloning like you discribe I was trying zeo.For me the out come was not good.Just wondering if you continued dosing or not.seems like your dosing a awful lot to fast.
I ordered prodibio today to mess around with.just wondering how everbody is doing with theres.

Kirsten, I am sorry to hear of your woes. This stuff seems very powerful and somewhat toxic. What would cause the polyps to tulip (hyperextend)? If we knew the answer to this question it may allow us to solve the mystery of which agent to suspect.

Everyone seems to be do things slightly different, so it is difficult to pinpoint the cause.

Well, I started my dosing on 6-10-06. So I might as well post what I am doing here so I can refer to it in the future if things start to go wrong. Furthermore, what does everyoine think of this dosing scheme?

Reef is a 110tall with 40 gallon sump and adjacent 16gallon Nano plumbed into the main system. Total system water is 110gallons. Ca (425-475) and dKH (8-10) maintained by Ca reactor. See my tag for more details.

Prodibio Bio Digest: (Sat) 1 amp every other week x 2 then 1/2 amp every other week.
Prodibio Bio Tim: (Sat) 1 amp every other week
Salifert Amino Acids: (Sun) 25cc weekly
Salifert All-in-One: (Mon) 25cc weekly
Salifert Trace Hard: (Tues) 25cc weekly
Salifert Natural Iodine: (Wed) 10cc weekly
Salifert pH/dKH buffer: when needed for dKH between < 8
Salifert Coral Calcium: 25cc when needed for Ca < 425

Notes: The tank is just over one month old, so I wanted to establish a good bacteria culture. The BioDigest recommendations are 1amp per 250gallons. I will dose a full amp for two events then back off to 1/2amp. Likewise, the BioTim recommendations are 1amp for 50gallons. Since this is an Amino Acid type product, I chose to just dose 1amp and supplement with the Salifert AAs.

BTW, how often was everyone dosing the BioDigest? Was more frequent than every other week?

I will post pics of some reference corals soon.

It has been a week of cutting back on PolypLabs Genesis and Fuel. I am weaning the tank off of it completely.

I did have a lot going on with this stuff so that is why I stopped Prodibio on May 20th. I needed to keep to one product.

Because I choose not to follow these products dosing recommendations I can not say if "This" or "That" caused the funky tissue and polyps.

I do think these products are powerful, especially on a system that is nutrient poor to begin with. My thinking at this point is over dosing.

My plan is to beef up water changes and continue with Vodka only. Wait for the tissue and polyps to return to normal. I will then start back on Prodibio at a 3 week interval instead of two and use AA, Pohl's CV, Zeo K (when needed).

I will keep this thread updated.

Wrassie86.........I've read many of your posts here on RC and will value your input to this thread when you start Prodibio. When you tried the Zeo and noticed the whacky polyps were you posting at all on the Zeo Board? They always seem to have somewhere there to guide you thru stuff like this. I have not found much info on what I am seeing. I even follow a Canadian Board where PolypsLabs comes from.

I will say, I do lots of searching and know many who are trying these products but not posting to this or other probiotic threads and I have seen some of them reporting lack of polyp extension on some species which was the first thing I noticed.

So I might as well post what I am doing here so I can refer to it in the future if things start to go wrong.

Good idea. That is what I did and it helps a lot. I am now documenting off line as well and post when I think it is significant.

I agree, I think many of the people here are over dosing. I have been conservative with my prodibio dosing. After I was happy with the results I started CV and soon will start AAHC. I want to make sure I can ID a product if something goes wrong.

No, i never posted to the Zeo forum about it.Infact i have not even thought about it till i saw your pics. The corals that did it, devoloped awsome coloring and then were gone shortly after the polyops looked like yours. After that i stopped zeo.I was having some nutrient problems at the time also,So hard to tell.
