Profilux and Mac?

Is there a utility that allows me to use my Mac instead of a Windows PC? I read the web based thread, but it looks like that progress has slowed a little. (I am really hopeful that will work out though, it is WAY over my head.)

Thank you for any help that can be provided.

To be honest this is the only stopping point for me right now. I have moved away from Windows in favor of Mac, I would like to be able to use my computer with the controller. If I can get a firm answer, something like, "yes, you need to do this...." then I will feel so much better about buying the controller.

Thank you for trying to help! I hope I get a favorable answer soon. :D

Crossover does not require you to install windows. It can run windows based programs without the os installed. I was able to install the Profilux software just fine. My only issue was I was unable to connect my computer via a serial-to-usb adapter. For now I am just running the software on my old pc laptop until I get the wireless adapter. From there I bet I can connect to the controller through my mac :) BTW I am sure if I have upgraded to the usb or wired ethernet adapter it would work also.

We have a growing number of users using the profiLux through Mac with no real reported issues, there was a thread on here somewhere dedicated to mac users of profilux, I think the thread was something like "network connection" or something similar.

Boboxx is the Guru on this you can drop him a pm, and he will happily i am sure help you once you have joined the club :) or before for that matter.

1st thing that you must have is a MacTel.
2nd The installer won't install in the crossover but if you copy the installed version of a pc and putit on your mac it works.
3rd I can only speak a tcp/ip connection because that is the only way I tested it.

I would assume that a usb connection would work, but i really suggest to get a lan card.

PS I can send you the Compress archive of Profilux to put on your mac.

I've been frustrated about the lack of MAC support as well. I run Parallels with Windows XP as a virtual machine on my MAC, but I've never been able to migrate my wireless Profilux over to my MAC router.

So: whenever I need to access the Profilux I boot an old PC on an old PC wireless router (which only runs for the Profilux).

In the end, what I use most frequently is the button panel on the Profilux itself.

ya I know it doesn't install at all for me too, but if you copy your folder from your of to your mac it will work
