Will this unit, the ProfiLux light II Controller bar, control an aqua llumination led fixture? If not, what is the most basic/inexpensive profilux controller that will? (I only need control over the AI.)

I've done some follow-up research and found threads in which AQD-Ottawa indicates that the Profilux Light II Controller Bar will control the AI.
So my follow up questions are these:
1) Will the Profilux Light II allow me to run the following light cycle:
blue sunrise-->white/blue daytime-->blue sunset-->dark nighttime
2) Will the Profilux Light II enable me to implement a storm effect?
3) Will I need any special cables or parts to integrate the Profilux Light II with the AI?
4) Is the Profilux Light II programmable on its face or do I need to run it via a laptop?
5) Is there anything else I need or should know?

this is the only limitation of using the Light II vs the ProfiLux Plus II - As the Ai uses the RS232 port on the Light II to communicate, this uses up the communication port so you can not connect the device to a lap top. it can be programmed manually but it is complex

Buy a profiLux plus II base unit and PLM-USB expansion (unit comes with temperature probe) and have full easy access.

Hi Ben. The Profilux/AI cables are finally in stock. It took forever! I just hooked up the cable. Wow this thing is AWESOME!!!
What an improvement over the standard AI controller.
Call me when you have a chance and you can come over and check it out. We can program all the stuff you want to do with your unit so you can see just how awesome it is.
BTW, I did add the USB module so I could operate the LED and make changes on the computer at the same time. Navigating through the Profilux panel is quite laborous, but it can be done.
Once you have it setup properly it should be fine. However, the computer program makes the changes fun, plus you can observe the light level changes when the clouds pass over. This is way cool.
The cloud probability feature is by far the best function of the LED/Profilux combo. This is what really separates LED systems from all other dimmable lamps. You have to see it to understand it. It was a feature I overlooked until I tried it.
The second best function is the storm feature. The lightning bursts are rapid and intense. It looks so cool!

I'm telling you man. Buying the AI unit was the worst choice you could have made for your wallet. You are wasting this great technology without a Profilux controller.
Here are my current setting:
Blue Sunrise at 7am to 10am to B100.
B100 from 10am to 3pm
B100 to B15 from 3pm to 6pm
White Sunrise from 8am to 10am to W25
W25 to W100 from 10 to Noon
W100 to W25 from Noon to 3pm
W25 to W0 from 3pm to 4:30pm
Cloud Probability 50%
Daily Storms M-F at 2pm for 20 minutes.
Rainy Days M,W, F, with 60% intensity.
Clouds are very dramatic and occur thorughout the day, so it gives you something cool to observe all day long. The operation is smart too, because clouds at 10am will change intensities, but the max intensity will never exceed the max level for that time of the day.
See what I mean, you NEED this controller. This hobby is run by the evil empire. :strooper:

I've been waitin for that damn cable
I agree on the value. Nothing on the market compares. I wish it had one expansion slot for usb, or Lan card.
Everything else has been running smoothly. Are there specs on the Profilux outdoor anywhere.
You guys should hook up with AI and build a controller to replace theirs as standard equipment.
