PROFILUX TEMP CONTROLLER AND SMS UNIT PRICING

I know what you are saying. I just like to look at the possiblities. But even with the discounts, the price is a little steep. I know I get what I pay for though.

I am looking for a recomendation on which unit to use. I have a 69 gallon tank with a 25 gallon sump. That puts me between a PTC3 and 4 gallonage wise. My tank usually runs about 79 and goes up to 83 with the MH on. Would I be able to get away with the PCT3 or should I go to the next size up?

You should also take into account that you probably have at least 15g of water displaced from sand and rock and if you have a 25g as the sump, I'm sure most of it is empty...probably 50-60% full if that.

I'd say you can probably use a PTC3...but you should check out your math.

Is it possible to get some measure of the capacity (BTU/h) of these controllers? I don't mean the suggested tank size.

Any further details on what pumps (flow rates) should be used with these systems. I am looking at a PTC6.

Hey Michael, have you sorted out my order for the ptc6 with Progressive Reef in Victoria? I want to be sure I'm in on the first shipment. :)

Michael,
Would you know whether it is ok, or not recommended, to feed these units from a drain line?
I was wondering if water with air bubbles would render them considerably less effective.
Thank you,
Sean

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but are there complete specs available yet for the PTC's ??? According to the tank size measurements I would need a PTC6 AND a PTC3 to cool my setup, but the most I ever need to drop my temp is a 2*F MAYBE 3*F pulldown. I would THINK (yes, its gotten me in trouble before) that in order to only pull down a few degrees I would be able to get away with one of the smaller units.....

Otherwise I'll just crank the A/C in the house to keep the ambient temp down.
