Just a few I shot this morning with my Nikon D40x and 105. I have had this camera for about a month now. Please help with any tips you may have. Thanks.

You're definitely making progress. Several of these are slightly over-exposed. That tends to wash out colors.

Ok. I am not afraid to admit that I do not know how to correct that. Can you please explain for this novice and aspiring photojunkie ;)
 
Well, it depends on the mode that you're shooting in. I'm not familiar with your camera but if you're shooting in an automatic mode you'll want to add some EV (exposure compensation) I'd start with about -1
 
I am shooting in aperature mode. I am battling with wb it seems. Thanks. I will read up on EV.
