Project on hold again: OR 3500 pump is not looking good!

Dunno what to say.

I get all of this gluing done, i'm ready to set this stuff up. So, I go to seat the OR 3500 end-piece that connects the inner chamber to the 1" intake, and...

Well, just 1/10 of a turn, which takes no effort, makes this thing unlatch. Am I doing something wrong here, or does this pump just have a major design flaw?

Please, say it's me and tell me what i'm doing wrong because I do not want to buy another pump and all new fittings to replumb this.

I'm not sure of the 1/10th turn but I no that it takes very little efford to pop this sucker open. I'm running one externally for my EV-180, beside the foot print, I'd take the OR pumps over a mag pump any day. I've never had a leak problem, if that's what you're concern about.

I don't know. I can't get it to stay. The weight of the pvc pipe alone makes it pop loose. What can I seal this with?

Thanks,
Angela.

Looks like the plastic catches only take about 1/10th turn to unlatch. YOu might try adding a "true union" to the pipe so that the plastic piece doesn't have to rotate when you are attaching the pipe.
