I picked up the eshopps psx200 skimmer from pedro, I have a sedra 1500 skimmer pump, but turns out its way too much of a pump for that body. So the question is, do I run it as a recirculated skimmer and hope that will cut down some of the overload from the pump? or add a valve on the inlet and try to cut down the flow? I was kind of worried about using fittings from the pump outlet to the skimmer body, just seems like it would cut down the bubbles, but I could be wrong. any ideas on how to make this thing work pretty well with what I have?

I was in a similar situation with a BubbleBlaster 5000 and an under sized skimmer. I attached the skimmer body to the lid of a 5 gallon bucket, and you get the idea....

yes, I have the benefit of room since my sump is plumbed to the garage. It actually sits in another container which acts as a baffle for the water level on the skimmer.
