Proper Snail Acclimation?

I got 12 trochus snails in this week from Liveaquaria and acclimated them how I normally acclimate all my new livestock - 15 min floating for temp, open the bag and put in a small squirt of prime to neutralize ammonia from the trip, 30 min drip, empty a little water out, another 30 min drip, followed by a 15 min float, and then I put them in. Two days later, today, I found that 7 out of 12 of them are dead. Snails are the only livestock I've seemed to have trouble acclimating, all my corals, fish, and crabs have always come out fine, but snails have always been 35-55 odds for me. After looking around online, I saw that some people don't even drip or pour water in for snails, just temperature float and drop them in. Others insist on acclimation, and both arguments made make sense to me. What do you guys find work best for you?

I had a problem with snails for a while along time ago, no matter how I tried acclamate a few days later they would be dead. This may sound odd, but after doing some research on the web I came across a thread on a forum that talked about voltage leaching. Filters powerheads pumps Jets and so on have the possibility to leach electricity into your tank. I checked mine by useing a digital multimeter. I was sceptical at first but I put the positive end in the water and negative on the screw on an outlet cover. And the dmm read almost 30volts! After that I started to unplug anything that had power going to it in the water. Sure enough I had a powerhead that was putting electricity in the water. Threw that one away got a ground probe and have had snails for years now. It's worth checking into.
