Prophylactic Chloroquine Phosphate?

I just bought a chromis and a McCosker's flasher wrasse from Liveaquaria.
They are in a QT tank getting their Prazi on.

After two rounds of prazi and some water changes, I normally treat new fish with copper, but know that is a bad move for this wrasse (right?)

I have Chloroquine Phosphate on hand....should I treat these fish with it or not bother? I am not sure if this particular wrasse species can even tolerate CP.

Thank you!

How many weeks observation is recommended?

Fish need to stay in CP ideally for 3 weeks. At least another month of observation is recommended after treatment is complete. Flasher wrasse don't always fair the best in CP, if you notice the wrasse stop eating or go into hiding I would stop treatment

well it sounds like CP would be a bad idea.
So how long should I observe in QT with no ich treatment?

I would not use CP against ich as there are better and less risky ways to to clean fish of it.
CP is the best medication against velvet and possibly also Uronema.

This but uronema is a supposition.

Well, there has been a test done on fish that died of Uronema, and a double dose of CP showed to kill the Uronema on the dead fish. So while there is no full blown study, there is sufficient proof that CP kills Uronema. Since there is really no better treatment around for Uronema I would rather take my chances with CP.

If you have uronema, I would agree. However I do not agree that a double dose is a wise prophylactic treatment.

Of course not! CP is something that you only use when you have a clearly sick fish and even then only if the suspicion is one of the things it might treat.
