Pros/cons using original skimmer lid

I'll be ordering a swabbie soon but was wondering what advantage it would be to retrofit the OG skimmer lid vs buying a universal lid from avast? Is it easier to take on/off? Or is it just the aesthetics of having the OG skimmer lid?

Well, theoretically, your OEM lid should fir your collection cup like a glove, which basically eliminates the need for the centering lid clips. But I've seen some really sloppy fitting OEM lids that I've ended up installing lid clips on anyway. So besides that, and aesthetic value (we have white retro motor housings), there is no difference.

I have done both, IMO go with the stock swabbie and keep your original lid. If you do have them customize your lid, buy one of the Avast lids so you have a spare.
