Protecting TUNZE stream intake from critters

Hey roger - One of my anemones recently found its way into the intake area of my stream, under the decor rock apparatus. Unfortunately anemone soup ensued. I was wondering if you have any suggestions or sell any things that can help cover or protect the intake area so that anemones can be safe in an aquarium with a stream. Thanks

The intake is about as small is it can get. I am really surprised I thought the rock would really go far to prevent this. I would just run some carbon and chalk it up to bad luck, I don't think this is a likely occurance and don't have a solution.

okay thanks. I have the decor rock propped up on other rocks, so there is a clear and easy path into the intake of the pump. You dont suggest putting the decor rock on the glass, as I recall.

No, it is best to keep it up where sercicing is easier, if the tank is bare bottom though and you feel you can get to it, outside a possible increase in vibration noise the glass would be OK.

I currently have it about half-way up the tank, propped up at the rocks edges, but the bottom of the decor rock is wide-open, i.e. you can easily see the pump thru the aquarium glass if you look up at the underside of the rock while its in place. it's easy for an anemone to crawl up into the area. Maybe I should set it on more rocks so that its not so easy to access by a critter.

I would set it a big rock, maybe a piece of Tonga shelf and that should solve the problem.
